Depeche Mode Working On New Album

After taking a few years off from recording, Depeche Mode are currently back in the studio. The veteran electronic group is currently holed up in Santa Barbara, CA, working on their follow-up to 2001’s Exciter. Recording began earlier this year on January 17th. The group is co-producing the record with Ben Hiller, who has also worked with Blur, Elbow and Doves.

About the album, frontman Dave Gahan said: “It’s a great feeling to be back together in the studio again and we are very excited about the new material. We’re all feeling incredibly positive about the album. Ben Hillier has brought a whole new dynamic to the group which is quite inspiring.”

The record is rumored to have a tentative release date this fall. Working song titles and the album title are still unknown.
