Dinosaur Jr. Reunite For Summer Tour!

Late last month Merge Records re-released the first three albums from Dinosaur Jr., 1985’s Dinosaur, 1987’s You’re Living All Over Me and 1988’s Bug. It’s been 15 years since the alternative rock pioneering band played a show together but on April 15, J Mascis, Emmett Jefferson Murphy III and Lou Barlow will reunite on national TV with a performance on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson. That performance will be a warm up for a summer world tour. The band will kick things off with three dates in the UK in June before beginning a US tour leg in Orlando, Florida, on July 7. The US tour will stretch through July 24 in Chicago where the band will perform at Lollapalooza, which is taking place for the first time in beautiful downtown Chicago’s Grant Park. NYC fans, the band will also be playing on the SummerStage in Central Park on July 14.

Following the US leg of the tour, Dinosaur Jr. will jet over to Japan for three dates at the Fuji Rock Fest.

Tickets for US shows go on sale on April 26 via the band’s website.

Will this lead to the three members of Dino Jr. finding the inspiration to go into the studio to record a brand new album? One can only hope.
