Classic Johnny Cash Albums Packaged Together For Box Set

On May 24 Varese Sarabande’s Varese Vintage label will release seven Johnny Cash albums originally put out by legendary Sun Records as a box set. Dubbed The Original Sun Albums – The Complete Collection, the box set captures 1957’s Johnny Cash With His Red Hot and Blue Guitar, 1958’s Johnny Cash Sings the Songs That Made Him Famous, 1959’s Greatest!, 1960’s Johnny Cash Sings Hank Williams …and Other Favorite Tunes, 1961’s Now Here’s Johnny Cash, 1962’s All Aboard the Blue Train With Johnny Cash, and 1964’s The Original Sun Sound of Johnny Cash.

According to Billboard, each album will feature the original artwork and six bonus tracks. Only 2,500 copies of this box set will be printed, so when they say “limited edition”, they mean it. I know this doesn’t really have anything to do with indie rock or alternative music, but Johnny Cash rules. So there.
