Keane To Follow In The Footsteps Of Metallica

Kean has looked to an unlikely source for inspiration: Metallica. Not that the trio is looking to start performing cock-rock, but they are hoping to film their own version of Metallica’s Some Kind Of Monster documentary.

Keyboardist Tim Rice-Oxley told NME: “It’s great to see a band live but whenever I get a DVD of a band, I kind of skip straight to that sort of tour documentary, behind-the-scenes stuff because what you really want to know is what they are like as people and how they write songs and how they make music.”

Keane fans should also note that a concert DVD from their North American tour is expected to be released as well. Rumor has it that the live DVD could see the light of day before the end of the year.

The group has been road testing new material, including “Nothing In Your Way”, “Hamburg Song” and “Try Again”. Rice-Oxley seems quite pleased with the direction of their new music. About performing these songs, he told Billboard: “It’s great to get out and play them for people and see what they think. So far, the reaction has just been phenomenal. I really feel that after touring for 18 months, our playing has gotten much better.”
