Darkness Bass Player Calls It Quits

Oh no! The world of rock & roll has been turned upside down by the devastating announcement surrounding the departure of bass player Frankie Poullain. Yes, the moustache-sporting member of the Darkness has left the group. I know this is an awful way to kick off your workweek, but please try to hold back those tears. Just ask a co-worker for a hug and it will be okay.

All sarcasm aside, Poullain has split from the band, which was confirmed this morning on the group’s official website. A statement read: “With immediate effect, bass player, Frankie Poullain, is no longer a member of The Darkness. Remaining members have cited musical differences as the reason for his departure. A replacement will be announced within coming months.”

It seems that relationships within the band went to hell during work on their follow up to Permission To Land. They added: “Tensions grew during recording sessions in Wales over Frankie’s mind being elsewhere. Frankie felt he had done all he could and decided to retire to the French countryside.”
