Spelling Bee Contestant Goes Down In Geek History With Dynamite Quote

In case you forgot to Tivo the National Spelling Bee last week on ESPN, you sadly missed what has to be the funniest moment in NSB history. Before spelling his word, contestant Dominic Ranz Ebarle Errazo ever so slightly slipped in, “Do the chickens have large talons…” in a spot on Napoleon Dynamite voice. Of course, the kids in the audience cracked up, but the commentator didn’t exactly “get it”. He said, “I wonder if he’s giving some kind of code.” OK, so granted this isn’t really music related, but it’s pretty damn funny, right? Especially after you check out the audio. If you want to compare his impersonation with the real thing, click here. If anyone has the video clip, we’d love to see it! Just email us. Thanks to the Obscure Store & Reading room for the sweeet heads up on this one.
