Where you one of the lucky ones at SXSW this year to see The Cribs? At the FADER lounge there were rumors spreading that one of the members opened a Red Stripe beer bottle with his teeth. Then people were saying that he really just hit his mouth on the microphone. Regardless of how it happened, (and how queasy some of us were at the sight of blood); The Cribs knew exactly how to put on a rock show.
If you missed them then, you must go see them when they come back to the US in July. A few of the dates will also be with the Kaiser Chiefs.They will be supporting their new full length, The New Fellas, that will be out in August on Wichita Recordings/Worlds-Fair Label Group. The New Fellas was produced by Edwyn Collins and has one of the best songs of 2005 on it, “Mirror Kissers”.
