Ex-Delgado Inks New Deal With 4AD

Emma Pollock has one of the most beautiful and meticulously cool voices today. It goes without saying then that her fans were sitting on pins and needles waiting for news of what was going to happen with her. Then the news came. The ex-member of the now defunct Delgados has recently inked a deal with 4AD Recordings. This is especially exciting to fans of hers, as The Delgados were one of the best contemporary Scottish acts out there. They also helped launch a ton of great artists such as Arab Strap and Bis through their indie-cool label, Chemikal Underground. (Not to mention that they also have the new Malcom Middleton album this year.) Word on the street is that she will spend the rest of 2005 writing, demoing, and recording. By 2006 the world should see her debut solo album. We look forward to it!
