Jeff Buckley Biography Film In The Works

Although it is surprising that it took this long to happen, a film on the lives of Tim and Jeff Buckley is finally going to be made. According to the Hollywood Reporter, writer/producer Train Houston has secured the rights to the book Dream Brother: The Lives & Music Of Jeff And Tim Buckley. The biography about the lives of the father-and-son singer/songwriters was written by David Browne, which will be turned into a screenplay by Houston.

Jeff Buckley will be the focus of the film, with his father appearing in flashbacks. Tim Buckley’s musical career included recording nine studio albums between 1966 and 1974. He then died of a heroin overdose at the age of 28. His son, Jeff Buckley, recorded the critically acclaimed album Grace in 1994, but never completed its follow-up as he drowned in Memphis in 1997. He was thirty years old.
