Saul Williams, Diamond Nights, More Sign On For Siren Fest

Adding to a line-up that already includes the likes of Spoon, VHS Or Beta, Brendan Benson, The Dears, Dungen and more, The Village Voice Siren Music Festival has just announced another round of artists who will take the stage at the 5th annual event at Coney Island. These acts include poet/actor/hip-hopper/activist/rocker Saul Williams, NYC ’80s party rock-inspired buzz band Diamond Nights, Shoegazer pop quartet Ambulance Ltd, Nashville-area high school kids Be Your Own Pet, hard rocking, humorously-titled quartet Morningwood, and Manchester-based ferocious indie rockers Nine Black Alps.

Taking place on Saturday, July 16 at Conye Island, The Village Voice Siren Music Festival is free, all-day, free, all-ages, free and… did I say free? The fun starts at noon and goes ’till 9:00pm, so if you have a hankerin’ for some out door indie rock, or just a desire to watch skinny hipsters melt away to nothingness in the hot summer sun, this is the place for you.
