Depeche Mode To Release Playing The Angel

We have been waiting on pins and needles for just a little more information about the upcoming new album from Depeche Mode. The group previously announced that they would be touring North America for six weeks, although specific dates have yet to be confirmed. We now do know that the album will be titled Playing The Angel, and was recorded in Santa Barbara, New York and London with producer Ben Hillier (Elbow, Doves).

Frontman Dave Gahan seems quite pleased with the progress made on the new record. In an interview with NME, Gahan said: “We are all feeling incredibly positive about the album. Ben Hillier has brought a whole new dynamic to the group which is quite inspiring.”

The complete tracklisting is still a mystery, but songs such as “Precious”, “Sinner In Me”, “Suffer Well”, “John The Revelator”, “Macrovision”, “A Pain The I Used To Be” and “I Want It All” will appear on Playing The Angel.
