Portland-by-way-of-So Cal singer/songwriter M.Ward has been tapped to open select dates on the forthcoming White Stripes fall tour. Supporting his most recent release, Transistor Radio, Ward will begin his stint with the slightly scary looking, red and white (and black) clad duo with a one-off show on August 18 at the Greek Theatre in LA. He’ll then be back onboard with Jack and Meg from September 21 in Boston to September 30 in Detroit.

M.Ward released Transistor Radio in late February via Merge Records. The album features special guest appearances from the likes of Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Howe Gelb (Giant Sand), Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley), Rachel Blumberg (Norfolk & Western), Vic Chesnutt, and more. If you don’t have it yet, you should get it. I’m just sayin’… it’s good.

So if you’re going to see Jack & Meg on any of the dates below, get there early to see a really talented singer/songwriter make really silly faces while he sings.
