You know us at The Tripwire, always looking for that next great band to tell you about. We have mentioned Los Angeles’ Silversun Pickups once before, but you better write that name down as you are going to be seeing a lot from them very soon. As previously reported, they are gearing up to release their debut EP, titled Pikul, for Dangerbird Records on July 26. There will also be a LP to follow up next year. In addition to the new CD next week, the group will be having a release party on July 26 at SeaLevel Records in Los Angeles. If you have never seen these guys (and girl) play before then be sure and go check them out (plus SeaLevel is pretty cool as well). The party starts at 9pm and SeaLevel is located at 1716 West Sunset Blvd. Don’t worry if you are too far from Los Angeles to go. Rumor has it the band should be touring later this summer and possibly will make an appearance at the CMJ Music Marathon in September. In the meantime, head over to SSPU’s newly revamped site to get more information and preview a few tracks from the upcoming EP.
