Gemma Hayes Completes Work On Sophomore Album

Time to add another album to your list of upcoming releases to watch for. Irish singer/songwriter Gemma Hayes has completed work on her untitled sophomore album for Astralwerks, which could be released as early as this fall. Hayes moved to Los Angeles to record the album, which will feature collaborations with violinist Lisa Germano.

The album was produced by Joey Waronker (Beck, REM) and mixed by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead). So how did she like Los Angeles? On a statement from her official website, she said: “I have to say I sulked like a kid in the back of the car when I had to leave L.A. I never thought I would say that but it turns out L.A. is a pretty amazing place.”

The sessions took place at the legendary Cello Studio in Los Angeles, where the classic Beach Boys’ album Pet Sounds was recorded.
