Katrina Ford, Sean Antanaitis and David Bergander (AKA Celebration) have announced that they are now officially part of the 4AD family. The label plans to release their self-titled debut album on October 11. Celebration was recorded at Headgear Studios in Brooklyn with David Sitek (TV On The Radio) on the board, and other TVOTR members were on deck to lend a helping hand here and there.
Celebration rose from the ashes of several past projects, Jaks and Lovelife. They also claim that the new project relies heavily on the multi-instrument abilities of Sean Antanaitis; he plays all the instruments minus the drums. Onstage it is a different story and they turn into a well-crafted four-piece band, which is very fitting since they are called Celebration. Member David Bergander says, “It’s the name of the band and it’s the way the music is – everybody is invited…”. Sounds like a reason to celebrate to us!
