Brett Anderson Announces Solo Album

As we eagerly wait for any news of a US release for the fantastic album from The Tears, former Suede frontman Brett Anderson has already moved forward on his new solo record. His solo effort will be released at some point in 2006, in between the current and upcoming Tears records. Yes, the music of Anderson and Bernard Butler will continue with another record as well.

As for Anderson’s solo album, he told XFM: “I’m literally about to go to the studio and finish off my solo album. I kind of half finished it a year ago and I’ve been living with it and we’re just putting a few final touches to it. It should be released next year and I’m very proud of it.”

About the sound of the album, he added: “It’s very sad and quite dark and it feels incredibly natural. I’m not writing songs to get on the radio, it has a very natural poise that just feels right. Last year I was writing The Tears’ and this album at the same time.”
