The Changes Next In Line For Schubas’ Practice Space Residency

Fresh off of their performance at Lollapalooza, Chicago “buzz band” The Changes have lined up a residency at one of the Windy City’s most beloved clubs, Schubas. The residency comes as part of the venue’s “Practice Space” series, which gives a band a headlining gig each Monday night for one month. The Changes will kick off their Practice Space shows on August 8th, when they’ll share the stage with two other rising Chicago bands, Baby Teeth and The Narrator. Always sure to attract a substantial crowd around Chicago, The Changes will have three more opportunities to hone their skills in the month of August, on the 15th, 22nd and 29th.

The Changes have been on the A&R radar for much of 2005. With tracks on two different Cornerstone Players, opening gigs for The Futureheads, Louis XIV, and Kaiser Chiefs (to name a few), and a successful East Coast spring tour, their stock has continued to rise throughout the year. Their spot as the only unsigned band at Lollapalooza should be the icing on the cake that will eventually enable the quirky, smooth and fun pop sounds of The Changes to reach a nation-wide audience. Chicago’s music scene is a thriving hotbed of insanely talented new acts looking to make a name for themselves, and The Changes, along a few select others, are leading the pack.
