So by now you’ve probably heard that Franz Ferdinand has a new single called “Do You Want To?”, right? Well just in case you hadn’t, now you know. If you haven’t actually heard it yet, just head on over to the band’s MySpace page and check it out, yo. MTV2 will be getting behind this new track in a big way as well. Next Tuesday, August 23, the network will premiere the brand new video for “Do You Want To?” through their “Unleashed” program. For those not familiar with the inner-workings of MTV2 programming, that means that the video will air once every hour for the entire day. How they’re going to squeeze it in between all of those episodes of Jackass, Punk’d and Wildboys, I’ll never know, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out. Of course, all of MTV’s online properties will carry the online premiere of the video on the 23rd as well.

In the week leading up to the October 4 release of the album, You Could Have It So Much Better, Franz and MySpace will be teaming up again for an exclusive, full album online listening party. I’ve got a feeling that this just might be the autumn of Franz.
