Beta Band To Release Two-Disc Compilation

For those die-hard fans of the Beta Band who are still hiding in their bedroom, rocking back in forth in a fetal position with tears pouring down their faces, still trying to come to grips that the band is no more, here is a little sunshine to help turn that frown upside down. After eight years together, the Beta Band cranked out enough brilliant music to fill up a two-disc best of compilation, set for release this winter. The material will include both album tracks as well as live recordings from a performance at Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.

Also, frontman Stephen Mason is currently eyeing Spring 2006 as a tentative (and non-specific) release date for a solo album. Recording under the name King Biscuit Time, the full-length with be preceded by a single, titled “C I AM 15”, reportedly due out in September.

So all hope is not lost, my little Beta Band buddies. Compilations and solo albums will be in your hands before you can quote your favorite line from High Fidelity. Well, maybe not that fast, but they will be here very soon.
