Rock & roll renaissance man Saul Williams has just been confirmed to open select dates on My Morning Jacket’s forthcoming fall tour. Beginning Halloween night at the Fox Theater in Boulder, CO, Saul will join the long-haired Louisville rock outfit for a short stint that will include dates in Salt Lake City, Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, LA, and San Francisco. Both prior and following his dates with MMJ, Saul will be on the road supporting his self-titled FADER Label debut album and his spoken word poetry.
Saul Williams has been on the road for the majority of 2005, including a series of European dates with Nine Inch Nails earlier this summer, but amazingly he has found time to write yet another book. Called The Dead Emcee Scrolls, the book is slated for release in January of ‘06. Keep an eye out.
If you’ve never seen Saul Williams in action, then make a point to check him out. If you’re already planning to hit up My Morning Jacket (which you should, because their new album is f-ing amazing), then get there early to see Saul. You’ll be glad you did.
