North Carolina’s favorite husband/wife indie rock outfit, The Rosebuds, will begin a 16-date North American tour this evening (September 9) at the home of the Indiana University Hoosiers, Bloomington, IN. The trek comes in support of The Rosebuds’ sophomore effort, Birds Make Good Neighbors, due out next Tuesday, September 13. As with 2003’s The Rosebuds Make Out, the new album will hit store shelves via our friends at Merge Records. I’ve been lucky enough to have it for a couple weeks now, and I feel confident in saying that it’s definitely worth picking up.
For those of you headed to NYC for CMJ, The Rosebuds will be performing at the Merge Records showcase on the 16th at Rothko alongside labelmates Crooked Fingers, Tenement Halls, Annie Hayden, Richard Buckner and Portastatic. They’ll be sharing the stage with some other quite talented young bands throughout the remainder of the tour as well, inculding Xiu Xiu and Frog Eyes in Richmond, IN, and hometown heroes the Scotland Yard Gospel Choir in Chicago.
