Iron & Wine, Calexico Tour In Support Of Split EP

Tomorrow (September 13), two of indie rock’s finest musical entities, Iron & Wine and Calexico will release a split EP called In The Reins. Blending the best aspects of both groups, all of the songs are written and sung by Iron & Wine’s Sam Beam and filled out masterfully with Calexico’s lap steal, vibraphone, banjo and a zillion other perfect musical accents. We actually told you about this split EP some time ago, but the new and exciting news is that the two will be teaming up for an October tour in support of In The Reins. The format for the shows will be as such. Each band will play a set on their own, then the two will team up and play In The Reins in its entirety. Cool, right? Sadly for those of us who don’t live in the Western half of the country, we won’t be lucky enough to see it, as the 12-date trek never makes it East of Texas. For all the details, just read on.
