Blog Search Tool To Help Get Your Geek On Even Easier

The folks over at Google have added to their arsenal of search utilities with the launch of a blog search engine. With what seems like eight zillion new blogs being started every day, it has become increasingly difficult for those of us with only a small bit of free time for web surfing to find blogs that fit our interests.

For example, I am currently craving a slice of pepperoni pizza. Since I still have a couple of hours until lunch, I can run a Google blog search for New York Pizza, when came up with nearly 27K results. The blog KrissyInBoston.com goes into her favorite NYC pizza spots, including Grand Avenue Pizza in Astoria. Although that is a bit out of my way for lunch today, perhaps I’ll check it out at some point in the next week.

I will be seeing the Los Angeles band Silversun Pickups perform tonight at the Dangerbird Records CMJ showcase, so I checked to see how many Bloggers are talking up their new EP. Turns out there are 124 blog postings on the band, with TaleOfTwoCities.org even mentioning their upcoming performance at the FADER & [adult swim] “Project” party.

Sure I could try all those RSS feed programs to help me stay on track with my favorites, but those don’t help me find new ones. The Google search makes it slighty easier to discover some new blogs to check out, which is pretty sweet. Waste some time at work today and check it out for yourself at blogsearch.google.com. Just don’t blame us if you get busted by your boss at work.

Win Tickets To See FELA! On Broadway

We’re not sure Fela Kuti’s epic story should be told in any other format besides the musical, and we don’t even like musicals!  That said, it just so happens we’re giving away two tickets to see the show for zero dollars. All you need to do is leave us a haiku in the comments before [...]
