2006 Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Nominees Announced

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland, OH, announced this week the nominees for the 2006 inductee class. The Stooges, The Sex Pistols, Blondie, Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five and Black Sabbath are among those named. Other nominees include John Mellencamp, Cat Stevens (now named Yusuf Islam), Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Dave Clark Five, J. Geils Band, The Patty Smith Group, Chic, Joe Tex and the Sir Douglas Quintet. Oh, and some guy named Miles Davis also made it on the ballot. Ever heard of him?

Artists are eligible for induction after at least 25 years have passed since their first record was released. Musicians, industry-types and journalists will vote on these nominees and the final list of inductees will be announced sometime in December. We’ll let ya know.
