Ric Ocasek Announces Two East Coast Concerts

Attention all Ric Ocasek fans along the east coast! Your pop superhero has just announced two rare live performances to help celebrate the release of his new solo album, Nexterday. The pop icon, singer-songwriter, producer, former Cars frontman and all-around talented dude will be performing a show in New York City and in Boston. He will be backed by the Hong Kong, which is the first band he signed to his Inverse label.

On Thursday, September 29, Ocasek is going to rock a benefit performance at the legendary CBGB’s (if it is still open). Tickets will be available only from Tower Records in The Village (692 Broadway). Then on October 10th he is heading to his hometown of Boston for a show at Harper’s Ferry. The only place to get tickets for the Boston show is at the Newbury Comics locations at Newbury Street, Government Center, Harvard Square and Alewife in Cambridge. The tickets for both shows are free with the purchase of Nexterday at these locations. Of course, you can just buy the tickets without the CD, but what kind of fun is that?

If you are not close to either performance locations, you can also catch Ocasek on Late Night With Conan O’Brien on October 6.
