Montreal-based pop standouts Stars have landed themselves a support slot on the second leg of Death Cab’s North American Tour. Earlier this year, Stars released one of the most beautiful, creative, and passionate pieces of music I’ve heard in a long time and beginning October 20 in New York City, they will bring their high energy live show to large venues across the United States in support of that release, Set Yourself On Fire.
Having successfully navigated the waters of the indie world, Stars are now finding themselves on the cusp of main stream success and the Death Cab tour is only the beginning. On November 8, Warner Bros. will release the fifth volume of the OC Mix, which includes the Stars track, “Your Ex-Lover Is Dead”. Where the first half of 2005 solidified Stars’ status in the rock underground, the second half will expose them to a brand new audience and I, for one, couldn’t be more excited for both them and their label, Arts & Crafts. If you haven’t already, go get Set Yourself On Fire. You’ll be glad you did.
