Voodoo Music Experience Returns To New Orleans

As New Orleans continues to rebuild from the destruction of Hurricane Katrina, the organizers of the Voodoo Music Experience have decided to bring half of the festival back to the city. The event was moved to Memphis, but now one day of music is being brought back to the Big Easy as a thank you to everybody involved in the city’s rebuilding.

According to the Voodoo Music Experience’s official website, unless you have already purchased a ticket for the festival, the October 29th date in New Orleans will be by invitation only. The honored guests will be the National Guard, police, firefighters, military and other civic leaders.

The New Orleans date will take place at Riverview Park, consisting of performances by Nine Inch Nails, Queens Of The Stone Age, LCD Soundsystem, New York Dolls, the Bravery, Digable Planets, Death From Above 1979 and Secret Machines. Memphis will still get a day of music on October 30th at AutoZone Park, featuring the New York Dolls, Cowboy Mouth, Cake, Carl Cox and many others.

The festival is now also a benefit concert, with proceeds going to the New Orleans Restoration Fund, Habitat For Humanity and Mercy Corps. If you have any questions regarding which dates your tickets are good for, head over to voodoomusicfest.com.
