Lady Sovereign Announces First North American Tour

Former FADER Magazine cover girl Lady Sovereign has announced her first official tour of North America. The trek will start off November 28 in Boston and will coincide with the release of the spitfire MC’s Vertically Challenged EP, out November 15 from Chocolate Industries. The EP will contain eight tracks, including a remix from the Beasties’ Ad Rock, as well as a 30 minute DVD with interview and behind the scenes footage.

All of this fun is in preparation for the US release of the 19-year-old grime sensation’s debut album, which is slated for release in 2006 through Island/Def Jam.

Will she live up to the massive hype she’s amassed in 2005? Will US audiences “get it”, or will she be an underground sensation only appreciated by a select few “cool kids”. Hit up one of these shows to find out. I know I will.
