Bloc Party Return To The Studio In February ‘06

Bloc Party is preparing to work on the follow-up to this year’s Silent Alarm, which was easily one of the most talked about albums of 2005. So can they keep the momentum up, blasting right through the dreaded sophomore slump? It seems that we may not have to wait that long to find out, as the band is currently planning on returning to the studio in February ’06.

In a brief interview with NME, bassist Gordon Moakes said they are looking at producing the album with Ben Hillier, although nothing is definite yet. He added: “There’s a bunch of songs that we’ve already demoed and stuff we play in soundchecks which are becoming more solid. We’re keen to get back into our space in January and finish writing the record.”

So far, a few song titles being tossed around include “Hunting For Witches” and “The War’s Not Over”. The band hopes to have the album ready for release by the end of next summer.
