Ministry’s Al Jourgensen Launches 13th Planet Records

Industrial icon Al Jourgensen has launched his very own new indie/boutique label. Called 13th Planet Records, the new imprint will be a joint venture with Megaforce Records in the US and Canada and will be distributed through Sony/RED. “Being clean for three years, I decided
it was time for me to get back in the saddle and create an independent
and autonomous outlet for Ministry and other side projects again,” said Jourgensen. “I am looking forward to developing 13th Planet Records into a successful, prolific, and creatively rewarding artist run label.”

The new label will be home to Ministry, Revolting Cocks and all other Jourgensen side projects. In fact, the debut release for 13th Planet Records will come on February 14, 2006, in the form of Revolting Cocks: Cocked And Loaded. Produced by Jourgensen himself, the album features contributions from a number of big names, including Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), Gibby Haynes (Butt Hole Surfers), Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick), Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top), Stevie Banch (Spyder Baby), Phildo Owen (Skatenigs) and Robin Zander (Cheap Trick).

Those of you waiting for the new Ministry album, Rio Grande Blood, will have to hold your horses ’till April of ‘06, though it will definitely be worth the wait. Tommy Victor (Prong) and Paul Raven (Killing Joke) both make appearances on the release.
