Moby Puts Down His Glow Sticks To Work On A Punk Album

It seems that Moby has grown tired of providing the mellow musical backdrop to countless commercials. Rather than regurgitating the sound of his album Play… again… it looks like the dance artist will look to his roots for his next record. Yes, the return of angry Moby is upon us, as he is preparing to head into the studio to record a series of punk songs.

In a recent update to his online journal, he wrote: “Over the last year I’ve written lots and lots of punk rock songs, and now I’m going to record them with (drummer) Scott Frassetto. They are definitely in the fun but very rough camp of punk rock songs.”

If rock & roll Moby just isn’t your thing, don’t worry my little candy bracelet wearing raver pals, as the bald one is working on some dance tunes under his Voodoo Child moniker as well. The follow-up to Baby Monkey is in progress, which will sound “electronic and experimental and not exactly club-classic floor fillers.”
