After hearing a few samples off of Peter Walker’s forthcoming new album, Young Gravity, I immediately ran out to catch his showcase performance during CMJ a couple of months back. The indie singer/songwriter’s new tunes are damn good, but the world will have to wait until spring of 2006 to get their hands on the album. Fans of slightly twangy pop such as the Jayhawks, Wilco and even a bit of Neil Young should definitely keep Peter Walker on their radar.

For those of you in the Los Angeles area, make sure you take advantage of the multiple shows he has lined up over the next month. A few of these dates include performances by Dangerbird Records label mates La Rocca, who are also destined for big things in ’06. Your east coast pals are quite jealous.
