Austin City Limits Festival Gears Up For 2006

It’s not even time for SXSW yet, but fans of live music will be glad to hear that Austin, TX is already gearing up for the next Austin City Limits Festival. The fifth annual event will take place in Zilker Park on September 15-17, 2006 and will feature more than 130 performances from artists ranging from roots, rock, gospel, hip-hop, bluegrass, funk, and more. In addition there will be the usual art market and food vendors

2005 was a great year for the festival and many people had positive responses from concertgoers. “I’m extremely proud of the lineup we put together for 2005,” said Charles Attal of Charles Attal Presents, talent buyer and co-producer of the ACL Festival. Charlie Jones, Executive Producer and Principal at Capital Sports & Entertainment, which organizes the Festival (and co-produces the Austin City Limits television series with KLRU-TV) added, “We’re already talking to bands for our fifth anniversary next year, and we can’t wait to tell the fans what we have in store for them. We also rely heavily on fan feedback to help us make each year’s festival better and better. As always, we’ll use the coming months to figure out how we can improve the fans’ experience including providing as much protection as possible from any weather-related conditions.”
