Hooray! New Britpop Night For Brooklyn

Everyone that knows a little something about me is tuned into the fact that I am a Britpop nerd. I know that there are a lot of other people out there that feel that way as well and are tickled pink that there are more bands from across the pond drifting over our way and starting to make a name for themselves. Needless to say when I heard about another Britpop night in New York City starting my ears perked up.

If you are like me then you will be pleased to know that this Thursday marks the second night of The Gorgeous Undertow, a new British indie club night at the Royal Oak in Brooklyn. The event will be host to mostly new British music with a few older gems tossed in-between for good measure. It is also inspired by the Club Sea Power nights that British Sea Power used to throw in the UK.

This week the guest DJ will be Peter White, from Drowned In Sound fame. In addition the night promises to be laid back and just a place for anglophiles to come, drink, dance and hang out. (None of this fashion show scenster stuff that some nights have quickly become). For more information be sure and click here.
