Gigantic Holds Two Exhibits, Show Tonight

If you are a fan of art and music then you are in luck. Gigantic Art Space (GAS) is presenting DRIFT, which is a collaboration between Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth fame and visual artist Leah Singer. The exhibit is currently running until January 14, 2006. According to GAS, the exhibition features a one-hour installation version of DRIFT, an immersive sonic/visual environment consisting of music, sounds, and texts by Ranaldo in response to Singer’s dual projection 16mm analytical film system. It also includes collaborative and individual works on paper, films, and sound works.

If that wasn’t enough, Gigantic Brand is also having an opening reception tonight for Inhumane Society, which is a photography exhibit by Isaac Haglof. The event takes place tonight, November 16, 2005 from 8pm – 10pm. There will be free drinks-a-plenty and a DJ set from Ezekiel Honig and live performance from the before mentioned Lee Ranaldo. Isaac Haglof has as worked in the past taking photographs of everyone from Calla and Les Savy Fav, to The Hold Steady and Inouk among many others. Currently he was brought into the Gigantic Music fold to produce the album artwork for their roster. Gigantic Art Space and Gigantic Brand are located at 59 Franklin Street in New York City.
