Supergrass Return To North America In 2006

Of all the British rock groups of the early to mid ‘90s, few survived the sophomore slump and quickly faded away into obscurity. Then there is Supergrass, who have recently released their fifth album, titled Road To Rouen. Their most mature and personal record to date, Supergrass has continued releasing top-notch albums for over a decade.

Frontman Gaz Coombes and his talented bandmates recently made a quick stop through North America for an acoustic tour supporting the new album. The boys are returning in February ’06 for a month-long run of dates, this time plugging back in into their electric splendor. From classic hits such as “Caught By The Fuzz” to the melancholy beauty of “St. Petersburg”, this is one of the first not-to-miss shows of 2006.

In related news, I had a chance to speak with keyboardist Rob Coombes earlier this week to discuss Road To Rouen. Catch the interview on the Tripwire this Friday.
