Sufjan Stevens’ latest release, Illinois, has become an indie favorite for 2005. In fact, he was ranked as the #1 artist/band in America for 2005 in a poll put together by Information Leafblower. For those of you who just need one more track, one more morsel of musical goodness from Sufjan before the end of the year, you just happen to be in luck. Asthmatic Kitty is releasing a double-vinyl, double-gatefold vinyl edition of the album on November 23rd.
The vinyl release of Illinois features new cover art as well as an extra track, which should be more than enough to entice you into purchasing it. If you are without a turntable, you may have to add a turntable to your holiday wish list. Cuz you know, it always sounds better on vinyl.
