Texas/UK-based indie rock ensemble The Earlies kicked off a North American tour this week that will continue through December 16 with a wrap-up gig at the Mercury Lounge in NYC. The band, which routinely numbers over ten members for gigs in the UK, has enlisted eight members for its US touring outfit, including a “space orchestra” of strings, horns, and zillion keyboards (amongst your normal rock band instruments).
In addition, The Earlies have made their Secret Broadcast #1 available for download on the Secretly Canadian website. For the past year and a half, The Earlies have been treating their UK fans to a series of mixes called “Secret Broadcasts”. ESB#1 first aired on the BBC and was then given away via the Rough Trade shops in London. In that same spirit, The Earlies have recorded a brand new, exclusive mix for their American fans. Called Secret Broadcast #11, the mix will be given away in limited quantities via select indie retailers (including Insound), and via Secretly Canadian’s mail-order system. Check it out.
