Rock Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced

All hail rock and roll! The Rock Hall of Fame Inductees were announced this week and on March 13 there will be a special ceremony at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Manhattan that will commemorate five legendary bands/artists. Every year music journalists, historians, producers, and others with music industry experience come together and vote on the nominations for the Cleveland, Ohio Foundation and museum. Artists must have had 25 years since the release of their first album to be considered. This year the inductees include Black Sabbath, Miles Davis, Sex Pistols, Blondie and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

If that wasn’t all, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss will receive a lifetime achievement award in the non-performer category. Alpert and Moss were responsible for founding A&M records in 1962, and who can forget Alpert’s amazing work with the Tijuana Brass group? As for the other inductees (side-men and early influences categories) we will have to wait. Those will be announced at a later date. In the meantime put on “Zorba The Greek” or some Sabbath and rock out. For more on the Rock Hall of Fame, click here.
