Ryan Adams Complete 2005 “Three-Peat” With 29

While most artists release an album every two years (if they’re lucky), Ryan Adams will see his THIRD release of 2005 hit shelves on December 20. Called 29, it is his first solo album of the year, as the previous two albums, Jacksonville City Nights and Cold Roses, were both recorded with The Cardinals. 29 also finds Adams again teaming up with producer Ethan Johns, who was behind the boards for both 2001’s Gold and Adams’ quintessential break-up album Heartbreaker. Only nine tracks long, the album is essentially an acoustic singer/songwriter album with plenty of country-tinged themes, perfect for die-hard adams fans.

I think it’s safe to say that Ryan Adams could have taken the best tracks from all three of his 2005 releases and put together one of his best albums to date, but that’s not really what his fans want. They can’t get enough of him and he’s clearly prolific enough to keep up with their demands.

In other Adams news, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals’ performance on Austin City Limits will air January 21 on PBS. Additionally, legendary photographer Danny Clinch’s Ryan Adams documentary, September, will be available via Concert Network’s Video-On-Demand through many digital cable outlets from Jan 1-Feb 1.

29 Track listing:

01. “29″

06. “Starlite Diner”
