Centro-matic Readies Fort Recovery

As a Texan transplanted in NYC, I try to keep tabs on my favorite artists from the Lone Star State. One of the greatest groups in the state, Centro-matic, is set to release a new single and album in early ’06, which is a mighty good thing. The new record is titled Fort Recovery, which will hit stores on March 7 via Misra Records. Prior to the release of the album, the single “Triggers And Trash Heaps” will be available, also through Misra Records, on February 7. You can download a free MP3 of the single by clicking here.

The man behind Centro-matic, Will Johnson, has some extended time on the road beginning later this month. He will first embark on a handful of Centro dates around Texas in January. After that, Johnson is joining the Undertow Orchestra Tour, which features several top-notch singer/songwriters. The tour will include Johnson, Vic Chesnutt, Dave Bazan (Headphones) and Mark Eitzel.
