David Lee Roth Putting The Band Back Together?

Van Halen’s reuniting!!! Woooooooooot!!!!!! Well, at least that’s what David Lee Roth hinted at when speaking with the Pittsburgh Tribune Review recently. “I talked to the drummer (Alex Van Halen) about a week ago,” he said. “And I think, eventually, the inevitable will happen.” Roth made the remarks during a Q&A about his new career as Howard Stern’s “replacement” on WFNY, formerly K-Rock. He continued on to say, “It definitely won’t be rockers with walkers. Getting onstage and singing ‘Dance the Night Away’ — let me tell you how difficult that isn’t going to be.”

That would sound pretty damn exciting if it wasn’t for Roth’s questionable reliability on such matters. Roth and Eddie Van Halen couldn’t even stand on the same stage together a few years ago at the VMAs. They could barely record a couple new songs together for a career retrospective before tempers flared for god sakes. And clearly Roth isn’t any easier to get along with in his old age (ask Sammy Hagar). So… if the band really does have plans to get back together, great. I’ll believe it when I see it. For now, I’ll just assume that David Lee Roth is just looking to raise the ratings of his radio show.
