2006 NME Awards Announce Nominees

Here we go with yet another music awards show with their recently announced list of nominees. Yeah, you are thrilled, right? Unlike a few of the other big music love-fests that have given nods to some pretty mediocre artists, the 2006 NME Awards are actually acknowledging some great bands. With Arctic Monkeys, Editors, Magic Numbers, Maximo Park and We Are Scientists all in the best new band category, NME has definitely gotten my interest. I will also admit that I like the fact that they have a few “worst of” categories, such as worst band and worst album. For the worst album category, nominees include the latest from The Darkness, The Bravery, Babyshambles, McFly and James Blunt. Those categories should liven up the awards presentation just a bit.
