Singer/songwriter/guitarist Imaad Wasif has spent time in such indie outfits as Alaska! and The New Folk Implosion, but on April 11 of this year he will release his first album as a solo artist. The self-titled debut album will hit the streets via Kill Rock Stars and was recorded and mixed in Nashville with Mark Nevers (Will Oldham, Tindersticks, Silver Jews, Lambchop). Wasif has also been asked to become a touring member of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so he’ll be playing select dates with Karen O and company towards the end of the month, as well ALL YYY dates (Coachella, Europe, etc) through this fall.
