Radiohead Coming To North America?

When I got a press release today for Radiohead that mentioned North American tour dates, well, I nearly soiled my pants. We all already know about their upcoming performance at the Bonnaroo Festival in Tennessee on June 17th, which unfortunately still remains as their only confirmed American date as of yet. What interests me is that they mention there will be dates in the USA and Canada throughout June. Are more dates on the way? C’mon Thom, help us out!

As for their upcoming album, it seems that the band is in no hurry to release a proper record. The band appears to be set on staying away from record labels for the time being, releasing songs for download whenever they damn well please.

Addressing this topic today, the band said: “We’re excited to be touring again, especially to play new songs to an audience. For the first time, we have no contract or release deadline to fulfil – it’s both liberating and terrifying. To keep things more fun and spontaneous, we will be playing new songs that are work in progress. We will also be releasing music to download when we are excited about it, rather than wait months for a full-blown album release. Music’s not just about all-time greats – it’s also a document of its time, and we want to be able to put out a song when it feels right.”

Soooo… maybe some new music this year… and maybe some additional shows. C’mon guys, just spill the beans already!
