Eels have officially made their 2006 tour known to the public today…. and there was much rejoicing! The upcoming shows, coined Live And In Person! No Strings Attached, will also feature those cute little girls known as Smoosh. On a side note, The Tripwire caught Smoosh last year at SXSW, and they were adorable! Make sure to arrive early and catch them live if you hit up one of these shows.
The tour kicks off with two warm-up concerts at the Roxy Theater in Los Angeles on May 25 and 26. After that they will trek through Washington, Utah, Colorado, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Canada, New York, DC, Massachusetts, and Illinois for Lollapalooza. Word on the street is that more USA dates will be announced soon as well. Oh, and if you are planning on attending that New York show, its free. Yeah, I thought that would catch your attention. As a special “Thanks to my peeps” to all the fans that made Eels’ Town Hall concert CD & DVD such a pleasure, Eels are making the New York show at World Financial Plaza free.
Eels’ Mark Oliver Everett, (A.K.A. E) says, “We’re very happy that everyone’s enjoying the Town Hall with strings album and film. It was a great night and tour for us, but that was so 2005. We’re into something a little different now. Blinking Lights And Other Revelations is a big album (33 tracks to be exact) and it deserves at least two world tours in its honor.”
