Apple has decided to take their beloved iTunes to the next level, joining forces with Ticketmaster to provide their customers the ability to buy Red Hot Chili Peppers tickets… welll… sort of. The new RHCP album, Stadium Arcadium, hits stores on May 9. In an effort to boost pre-order sales, Warner Bros. and iTunes have put together an impressive list of bonus goodies to help sweeten the deal.
For starters, fans will receive a download of the new single, “Dani California,” immediately after the pre-order purchase. On the release date, the pre-order peeps with then be able to download some exclusive extra content such as an audio interview, a video showing the making of the “Dani California” video plus a full color digital booklet. On top of all that, fans who pre-order the album on iTunes will also receive a code that they can use at Ticketmaster.com to purchase concert tickets on May 9, a full four days before they go on sale for the general public.
Although the Chili Peppers have not announced the specifics on their tour dates yet, we do know which US cities they will be heading to. So far they have confirmed:
