Inaugural Dim Mak Festival Slated For May 20 In LA

Summer is almost here. Last weekend I fired up the BBQ, cranked up some tunes, cooked some dogs and brats, and spent the day on my porch drinking beer and eating meat in tubular form. But devouring meat cooked over charcoal is just one perk of the beautiful summertime. Another is the burgeoning new trend of out door indie rock festivals. Not as ginormous as a Coachella or Bonnaroo, festivals like Intonation and/or the Siren fest in NYC have become go-to events for young hip kids looking to show off their summer wardrobes and listen to good music, all while getting a sun tan and coming dangerously close to dehydration due to an disproportionate alcohol/water intake ratio.

Well you West Coasters will now have your own cool kid outdoor indie event to shake your ass at this summer. Dim Mak mastermind Steve Aoki has teamed up with Stake Productions to bring you the Neighborhood Music Festival. Taking place on the grounds of the Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, the festival will go down on May 20 and will feature performances from Moving Units, Ima Robot, Whirlwind Heat, Icarus Line, Mickey Avalon, Idiot Pilot, Rolling Blackouts, Coldwar Kids, Mika Miko and more…

Of course, Kid Millionaire (a.k.a. Steve Aoki) will man the ones and twos throughout the day, playing fab musical selections for the kids. There will be vendors and probably some free shit, as well as an after-party on the fucking Queen Mary! That sounds pretty damn awesome actually.

Oh, and The Cobrasnake will be there (obviously), and Indie 103 is a sponsor, along with GRN Apple Tree Clothing and C1RCA footwear and apparel.
