Okkervil River Gets Overseas Release

Okkervil River’s reach has now expanded overseas, as Virgin Records is re-releasing their awesome Black Sheep Boy and Black Sheep Boy Appendix as a double-disc on April 28 throughout the UK and Europe. For some reason, this deal does not include Italy, but everybody else seems to be good to go.

The good people at Jagjaguwar have also tipped us off that new material from the band is well underway. Okkerbil River has been writing and recording new material, including a ten-day session at their house, which resulted in 22 songs. This was all done before Will Sheff left Austin for a three-month writing road trip, which should mean that even more tunes are on the way.

In the meantime, the band is heading to Europe for a month of dates to support the overseas release. Their next North American date will be on July 13th at NYC’s Castle Clinton.
