It’s been a while since I squealed like a little girl and danced around the office like a monkey on crack. Now that you have that awesome image burned into your brain, let me tell you why. This morning started off like complete crap. The bus showed up 30 minutes late, I barely managed to catch the A train and the people that know my order by heart at Starbucks had already changed shifts. About halfway through the day all that changed when a little birdie told me this information that I am going to share with you. What is it? Oh, it’s only the new details on Silversun Pickups’ debut LP, titled Carnavas.
Believe you me, this album is gonna be HUGE. The eleven track Carnavas streets July 25 via Dangerbird Records, and was mixed by Tony Hoffer (Suede, Supergrass, Belle & Sebastian) and produced by Dave Cooley (MF Doom, Madlib, Z-Trip). Word on the street is that songs included on the release will be “Lazy Eye,” “Checkered Floor,” “Melatonin” and “Future Foe Scenarios.”
On the new album front man Brian Aubert stated, “We worked our asses off and we are very proud of the finished product. We stayed very focused on a feeling for the full-length — it’s colder, more mechanical, moodier — but at the end of it all, it’s a rock record. And that’s what we wanted to make. I’m not saying that it’s some radical departure, it’s just different. It’s a lot more like us live. We saved these sharper songs for the record and after hearing it finally with fresh ears, I’m glad we did.”
